Virtual Training Opportunities < Hosted by the Florida Health Care Coalitions

The National Incident Management System (NIMS) guides all levels of government, non-governmental organizations and the private sector to work together to prevent, protect against, mitigate, respond to and recover from incidents. NIMS provides stakeholders across the whole community with the shared vocabulary, systems and processes to successfully deliver the capabilities described in the National Preparedness System. NIMS defines operational systems that guide how personnel work together during incidents.

We urge all members to take the basic FEMA courses so that they understand the big picture of any response and how they fit into it.

Here are training opportunities at the Center for Domestic Preparedness in Anniston, Alabama.  These courses are largely funded through the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) (inclusive of training, food, transportation and lodging), and the application process is fairly easy. For those who attended “Florida Week 2017”, you already know the value of these CDP trainings. You can find more information and registration at their website https://cdp.dhs.gov/find-training/healthcare.
